How does Training Pays work?

A Training Pays Adviser will meet you and help you and your employer choose the best course to improve your skills.

Please note, we would only contact your employer with your permission; some young people do their learning in their own time.

The Training Pays Adviser will offer you continued support and guidance throughout your training.

When and where can I do the Training?

Training can take place at your workplace, at a Training Provider or even at home.
 
This will depend on the qualification you choose.
 
The Training Pays Adviser will discuss the best location for you and your employer.

How long will the Training take?

This depends on the course you take and your Training pays Adviser will be able to offer you more guidance on this.

Do I have to have a certain type of job?

Training Pays is one of 8 Learning Agreement Pilots which encourages young people aged 16 and 17 already in work but without any formal training to undertake accredited training alongside their jobs. The South Yorkshire pilot is led by RMBC and Learning and Skills Council South Yorkshire and is delivered by Training Pays Advisers based across South Yorkshire at a variety of locations including Connexions Centres, Colleges and at Training Pays’ Headquarters, Arena Link, Sheffield.  In July at a celebration ay Sheffield Wednesday's Stadium, Hillsborough we celebrated 1000 sign-ups. The event celebrated the achievements of the Training Pays Unit paying tribute to young people, employers & training providers who have participated in the pilot to date.
